What is Base London's policy on privacy?

Here at Base London, we love to share our products with you, however we take YOUR privacy extremely seriously; we will never sell, give away or rent your personal details to any organisation outside without your permission. If you have purchased items from us or subscribed to our newsletter we may occasionally update you on new items / special offers by email or post. If you have registered to receive our newsletters and no longer wish to receive any emails there will be a link on each newsletter to unsubscribe. Alternatively you can contact us through our Contact Us page with your full name and email address you subscribed with and we will unsubscribe you on your behalf. Your information will be held by us, Base London, and our registered office is at: Base London Ltd 4-6 Buckingham Court, Rectory Lane, Loughton Essex, IG10 2QZ We are the "Data Controller" because we have control over and are responsible for your personal information. If our business is sold or integrated with another business, your details may be disclosed to our advisors and any prospective purchasers and their advisors and will be passed on to the new owners of the business. We will only send emails to our registered members.

What type of information is kept?

When you order shoes, we need all relevant information to ensure that we can supply you with the goods and take payment for our services. We may also use this information for administering and maintaining records, training staff, responding to queries raised by customers, updating systems and carrying out research and statistical analysis. Relevant information is shared with the courier companies for the purpose of delivering your order only. We may disclose information to law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies or, if so ordered, by the Court. Base London also offers an account/log in service on the website. This is designed for customers to have the most trouble free and easy shopping experience possible. No payment or credit card details are stored within the personal account. Information taken whilst placing an order will be held by Base London in order to process your order correctly and help with any unforeseen problems with your order and will need to be accessed by Base London to be able to process any questions relating to orders. The details stored within accounts will only ever be used by Base London Ltd (acting on behalf of Base London or Fish 'N' Chips by Base London) and will never be passed onto third parties. You may deactivate your account or unsubscribe to mailings at anytime. Account profiles that were previously registered with Base London (prior to 1st November 2014) will not be transferred to the current site and will therefore be deleted and disposed of responsibly. However we will maintain the information received from web orders previously made on Base London prior to 1st November 2014 as it may still be needed to help respond to questions about orders. We do not store credit card details on our site.

When Ordering:

The information we require to process your order is the following:

  • The Expiry Date
  • The 3 digit Security Code
  • The Billing Address Of The Card (for security purposes)
  • You may also have your product delivered to an alternative, more appropriate address (no PO. Box addresses)
  • You may also purchase products using your PayPal account. You will be redirected to PayPal who will process all orders made on, please refer to PayPal's privacy policy.

We have in place a level of security appropriate to the nature of the data and the harm that might result from a breach of security. However, all publicly accessible websites are susceptible to malicious practices, and we accept no liability if security is breached. We will not hold information about you which is excessive in respect of the purposes for which it is processed.
