Work It Out... Get A Job

The Curriculum Vitae (aka CV)
Before you can even consider applying for work you need to get your CV sorted. This is your big opportunity to sell yourself, your life story on a couple of sides of A4 might not sound much but get it wrong and you won't be going anywhere.
Length isn't always important
The ideal length of a CV is no longer than 2 sides of A4. Never go over three sides. Make sure you have all the relevant information as summarised as possible.
Proof it
Read through your CV before sending it out, there's nothing worse than having a CV full of spelling mistakes or poor grammar.
Prove it
Nearly 70% of people lie on their CV, although not totally advisable, it can be a good idea to dress it up a bit, but many companies do check. Minimise weaker points, if you failed an exam or degree don't include the result, many interviewers won't ask the grade.
Good idea!
Stay positive throughout the CV, show off about everything. The look of the CV is as important as the content, spend time on the layout and design. Have different styles of CV for different career options.
Layout
Your CV needs to be well organised with a layout that is easy to read. Head the different sections in bold type and use bullet points and spaces to help the reader find specific information quickly. If in doubt surf the net for example layouts and styles.
