Base London's Gentlemens Guide to...

July

Wear It Well... Summer Style.

The sun is shining, weather is sweet well we hope so. It's holiday season, lets pray for some rays or at least go in search of them. It's important to make sure your prepared and look cool even iof you are sweating your moobs off. With everything you need for essential summer style here's Base London's guide to ... Summer Style.

Shorts

Shorts come in all different lenghths, patterns and styles, but then again so do our bodies. Essentially the shortest a pair of shorts should come up to is level with the top of the knee. Shorter and you look like you are wearing shorts too small for you The longest length is dependant on your height and size. If you are a wee-man stay away from longer lengths as they have a drowning effect and make you look stumpy.

Three quarter lengths should stop at where the calf is thinnest, to accentuate the muscles . A cargo short, with bulky pockets is the easiest to pull off, try military or muted tones, but you'll be able to get alot of use out of these. Surf shorts are ideal for the beach and that's it and linen shorts are for the braver, but make a smarter option.

Swimwear

Get down the beach and get that top off, but what swimwear look do you go for: Borat, stringfellow or Hoff?

Speedos are the classic swimwear choice, available in either a brief form, which you should definately avoid or short format, as worn by Daniel Craig in Bond, if tight is your favoured style then choose these. Never Mankini it, you'll look like it's your stag do.

Short shorts are an alternative, but the mouse can regularly come out of the house. Medium, Hoff style shorts are the most physique sympathetic, and keep your tackle safe. Surf shorts should be left to the surfers.

Tee - Shirts

With so much variety in T-shirts you can be as inventive as you want. You've always owned T - shirts and probably threw some away which would look really cool now. However for the summer you should consider these options. It's summer, go for hotter colour options, and cool graphic or retro tees.

Footwear.

For Summer, basically wear some cool Base London sandals, flip flops or an espadrille. Esentially though if you're going to wear trainers with bare legs stay away from bulky styles and socks, instead wear trainer socks, and never combine socks and sandals.
