3 Top Tips to Picking the Right Nag
Shop around - There are three ways to bet (the Tote, the bookmakers and the betting exchanges) look around for who's offering the best odds, or how many places they pay to.
Bet each way on the outsiders - the National can spring surprises and the larger the odds the more you get in return.
Avoid the Fatties - like in any walk of life the fat ones aren't worth spending your money on, also if it's sweating, this can be a bad sign.
Look The Part
Obviously depending on the weather or the area you'll be in, the races is a sport where fashion can be as important as the actual racing. Leave the barbour and wellies at home, you want to look like you mean business, you're not there to muck out. Be smart, wear a well tailored light coloured light fabric suit finished off with a smart pair of Base London brogues which scream style and sophistication.
