Get It Right... New Year, New You

Happy New Year, the hangover may still be in full throttle and the season's excesses may have taken their toll. But it's time to take a look at yourself and make yourself a better man. A big gut was never on any woman's wishlist and stamina doesn't just affect whether or not you can catch that bus. You need to assess just how bad things are. Now drop and give us 50 with Base London's guide to get it right...New Year New You.
We all know that us Brit's are getting fatter, you just need to take a walk down the high street on a hot summer's day to see the evidence. The media keep banging on about it but it's hard to eat well and stay fit without motivation, so just consider the following:
- 70% of men and 63% of women in the UK are overweight or obese and cases have tripled over the last 20 years. A waist in excess of 40" puts you in danger of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and even cancer - to say nothing of the damage it does to your pulling power. Cutting down on saturated fats, processed carbs and alcohol can really help when teamed with regular exercise.
- One in three UK adults has high blood pressure which adds strokes, kidney disease and dementia into your risk factors so cut your salt intake and eat loads of those five a day fruit and veg.
- Grunting and groaning in the bedroom isn't usually considered a bad thing but if it's as a result of trying to put on your socks, then it's time to make a change. If you are unfit or overweight, or both, not only will you be feeling less attractive, your performance in the bedroom will be suffering and studies now show that erectile dysfunction is also linked. Make for a better sex life by combining the tips listed above together with a work out for your PC Muscle (pubococcygeal muscles). The PC muscle runs from the pubic bone to the tail bone (coccyx) in both men and women. Clenching and relaxing this bit of kit for 10 seconds, ten times at least three times a day will give you better control and therefore more staying power.
